About Anita Lewis

Anita is an embodied movement practitioner, educator and therapist, whose love of movement, dance, and yoga spans over 30 years.

Her training as a yoga therapist started in Chennai in 2005 with AG and Indrah Mohan (founders of Svastha Yoga and authors of numerous books). She then studied with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London, completing a Diploma in Yoga Therapy in 2009.

Background qualifications include a BA Hons in Nursing, later specialising in palliative care for people with HIV and cancer. Yoga therapy, trauma-informed movement therapy and cranial sacral therapy form the back-bone of her current work.

Anita offers workshops and training in mindful movement and yoga nationally. She has worked as a consultant offering masterclasses in mindful movement at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre since 2011. She has also worked as a consultant for the charity PAUSE, using trauma informed practices to support staff and clients. Furthermore, since 2012 she has worked at a residential centre, supporting people who live with the legacy of complex trauma, where she met and studied with Stephen Porges.

Anita works in both Oxford and Dartmoor, as well as offering online Skype sessions for trauma-sensitive movement and yoga therapy.
